SELLING YOUR ITEMS
TO US
Occasionally we purchase items from customers and we do have a few rules we have to follow.
We understand that selling your personal items and those of relatives who may, for example, have passed on, can be an emotional time. We try to make the selling process as easy as possible for you, and we do ask you not to offer us anything that your family members and friends may still be deciding upon.

Please take a few clear photos of what you have to sell, and email or Whatsapp these to us on the contact details below. It is also helpful for us to know if you have any price in mind. We can advise you on this.
Once we have received your images we will contact you with a date for you to bring in your items, a price will be agreed when we have viewed the items, and, if we take the items we will pay you in cash. You will receive a receipt as a final, binding transaction.

Please do not be offended if we say "no thanks" to your items as we have to choose what is right for our shop, or decide if we can give you the full price that your items demand. We are very honest with all of our customers, and will advise of other ways to
sell your goods.

Please note that Hoptroff & Lee are not valuers, nor can we comment on any other valuation you have been given.

What we do and do not buy
WE WILL CONSIDER THESE ITEMS:
True vintage and antique curios, bottles, tins, framed prints, old postcards, cartes de visite, Wade Whimsies and similar, Gerry Anderson and George Lucas collectables, jewellery*, selected Ladybird and Observer books, nautical collectables, gemstone animals, breweriana, tobacciana, automobilia (car badges and collectables), clean woodworking tools, porcelain doll parts, gaming pieces, medical instruments and anatomical models, rustic garden ornaments, old Christmas decorations.
* Silver has risen in price but certain jewellery items may be considered.
We do not buy and sell gold

WE DO NOT TAKE:
Glassware, tea sets, cutlery, linens, vases, figurines, powder compacts, handbags, clothes, mechanical items, clocks, electrical items, miscellaneous books, weapons, animal traps, pelts or other body parts including taxidermy, any item which was once a living human body part, hunting memorabilia, any item that is chipped, cracked, broken, rusted, or repaired, any item which is not in excess of 20 years of age.
